Mat Wenzel is a poet and teacher. He completed a PhD in Creative Writing with an emphasis on Queer Studies from Florida State University and now teaches writing and Queer Rhetoric in Fort Worth, TX.

Mat majored in English at The Master's College in Santa Clarita, CA before his 10 year career as a jr. high/high school English teacher. While teaching he earned a M.Ed. in Curriculum Instruction and Design from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, and then an MFA in Poetry from Ashland University in Ashland, OH.
